Today VFOLD is owned and operated in Canada, continuing its commitment to delivering practical, reliable, and efficient wastewater treatment technology to a diverse international customer base.
Our Background
VFOLD originated from Dayco Pty Ltd, founded in 1992 as a chemical engineering consultancy specializing in the design and installation of effluent treatment systems for small to medium-sized industries. Through extensive project work across multiple sectors, a consistent operational challenge became clear: conventional dewatering systems were often complex to operate, sensitive to process variability, and costly to maintain.
Industries including food processing, wineries, printing, and metal finishing all faced similar constraints related to downtime, operational inconsistency, and high lifecycle costs.
To address these limitations, DAYCO developed a new approach to sludge dewatering focused on operational stability and process tolerance. This led to the development of the V-Fold Folding Belt Filter Press.
The first installation was commissioned at a winery in the Barossa Valley, South Australia. Following successful performance validation, additional units were deployed across multiple sites within the same operation.
Product Development and Market Adoption
Commercially launched in 2000 with the SS600 model, the V-Fold system established itself as a practical solution for variable and demanding slurry conditions. Its simplified mechanical design and tolerance to fluctuating feed characteristics positioned it as a reliable alternative to conventional belt filter press technologies.
To date, more than 250 V-Fold systems have been installed across a range of industries, including applications involving clarifiers, settling pits, dissolved air flotation (DAF) systems, and biological treatment processes.
In 2004, the product line expanded with the introduction of the larger Maxi-V model, extending capacity and application range.

VFOLD Inc. continues to focus on the design and distribution of robust, low-complexity dewatering equipment suited to real-world operating conditions.
